About Outreach
In November 2017, the Cape Hindu Cultural Society, in line with its Constitution, decided to set up a dedicated committee with the broad aim and objective of providing a formal structure through which the Cape Hindu Cultural Society members can provide support and assistance to communities in need in the greater Western
Cape region.
The Outreach Committee
The outreach committee is putting together a calendar for the various drives that will take place throughout the year.
Past Initiatives
To date, the organization has conducted several drives:
– Food hampers
– Support to feeding schemes
– Sanitary Pads
– Disaster relief
– Winter blankets for shelters
– Winter throws for pet shelters
– Community knitting initiative to support those in need
– Donation of consumbles, clothing and knitted items to the Groote Schuur NeoNatal Unit
The organization thanks its donors and the Cape Town Community for helping create a better life for those in need.
Philosophy
Winston Churchill famously said: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” The CHCS strives to give life to these words by giving to the less fortunate.
